Laboratory Researcher

About the position:

The Liver Hormonal Regulation Laboratory at Sheba Medical Center is seeking a highly motivated and independent researcher to lead and manage cutting-edge research projects involving mouse models and liver-derived organoid systems.

Our lab focuses on investigating fatty liver disease using organoid models, with an emphasis on therapeutic interventions involving GLP1 and GLP2. We aspire to develop and calibrate a national platform for organoid generation and research, particularly in the field of hepatic biology.

This is a full-time position within a collaborative and professional work environment, offering specialization in organoid technology with the goal of becoming a national center of excellence. We welcome candidates who share our vision and passion for scientific discovery.

Responsibilities:

·Lead research involving mouse colonies and liver-derived organoids

·Perform treatments and interventions on organoids, including fatty liver modeling

·Collaborate closely with the lab head while also working independently

·Maintain and manage mouse colonies (including injections, genotyping, and organ harvesting)

·Perform experimental protocols including tissue processing and organoid generation

Requirements:

·PhD or MSc with at least 5 years of experience post-degree – required

·At least 2 first-author peer-reviewed publications – required

·Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience working with mice – required

·Strong expertise in confocal microscopy – required

·Valid ethical animal research license from an academic institution – required

·Solid background in molecular biology techniques (e.g., RT-PCR, Flow Cytometry, image analysis) – required

·Proven scientific writing skills (publications or grants) – required

·Proficient in English – required
