About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Senior Backend Developer to join our team and help drive technical excellence in our backend infrastructure. This role combines technical expertise with leadership opportunities in a remote-friendly environment.

Required Experience & Skills

• 5+ years of professional software development experience
• Expert-level proficiency in:
• Node.js & Express.js
• TypeScript
• RESTful API design and implementation
• Object-Oriented Programming principles
• Strong understanding of:
• Design Patterns (SOLID principles)
• System architecture patterns
• Enterprise integration patterns
• Advanced knowledge of database systems:
• MySQL (Expert level)
• PostgreSQL
• MongoDB
• ElasticSearch/OpenSearch
• Extensive AWS infrastructure experience
• Strong background in testing methodologies and code review practices
• Proven experience with microservices architecture

Core Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable backend architectures
• Drive technical decisions and architectural improvements
• Maintain high code quality standards through reviews and best practices
• Monitor and optimize system performance

Development & Documentation

• Develop robust and scalable backend services
• Create and maintain comprehensive API documentation

• Design and implement reusable components and systems

Technical Requirements:

Primary Technologies

• Backend: Node.js, Express.js, TypeScript
• Databases: MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB
• Cloud: AWS (primary), Azure (secondary)
• Testing: Jest, Mocha, or similar frameworks
• Version Control: Git
• API Tools: Postman

Design & Architecture Skills

• Experience with various architectural styles such as Microservices and Event-Driven architecture
