Content & Social Media Manager

Unpacked, a division of OpenDor Media, is looking for a Content & Social Media Manager who can craft engaging, high-quality content that drives audience growth and engagement across multiple platforms. This role requires a blend of creativity, trend awareness, and strategic thinking to produce content that resonates with our audience. This role requires a strong understanding of Jewish history, culture, and modern issues, combined with a digital-first mindset to create high-quality content.

This is a full-time, remote position that reports directly to the Head of Social Media & Website.

Requirements:

What You’ll Do:

Content Development & Ideation

• Research and produce engaging, accurate, and timely easy-to-consume educational content about Jewish history, culture, religion, and modern topics (e.g., holidays, identity, antisemitism, Israel, current events).
• Brainstorm and execute high-impact series, campaigns, and interactive content that drive engagement and discussion.
• Write scripts and captions that align with our unique voice and objectives.
  
  

Visual & Video Content Creation

• Ideate, create, and edit all short-form video content optimized for platforms like Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts.
• Design eye-catching graphics, carousels, and thumbnails in line with brand identity using tools like Canva or Adobe Suite.
• Ensure all visuals are on-brand, engaging, and aligned with the account’s storytelling goals.
  
  

Social Media Management

• Manage and schedule social social media posts across various platforms using Sprout Social and other social media management tools, ensuring they are aligned with the overall social media strategy and marketing campaigns.
• Stay ahead of trending topics and evolving social media formats to optimize content performance across all channels.
• Engage with the community by responding to comments and fostering meaningful conversations around Jewish topics.
• Track platform analytics and insights, and refine content strategy based on data to drive growth and engagement.
  
  

Additional Requirements

• Familiarity with Jewish practices and Israeli history is essential for authentic and informed content creation.
• Strong editing skills, including video editing, to ensure polished and professional deliverables.
  
  

What You Have:

• Proven experience in social media content creation
• Strong knowledge of Jewish and Israeli history and culture - able to present nuanced topics in an accessible, engaging way.
• Proficiency in video editing and design tools (experience with tools like Adobe Premiere, CapCut, Canva, Photoshop or similar).
• A deep understanding of social media trends, algorithms, best practices, and audience engagement strategies across platforms.
• Ability to write concise, compelling copy that aligns with brand voice.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven in a fast-paced environment.
• Passion for OpenDor Media’s mission and familiarity with topics related to Jewish history, Israel, or media literacy is a plus.

Salary:

Our target salary range for this position when based in New York is $55,00 - $65,000 annually. In Israel, the salary range is 12,000 - 14,000 NIS/month. The final salary for this role will be determined based on careful consideration of a variety of factors, such as the candidate's exact location, experience in similar roles, and expertise related to the qualifications.
