TargetBoard is redefining how tech companies leverage data for decision-making—eliminating the traditional BI tax and giving executives real-time clarity on their business. We’re looking for a Founding Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our core team, own outbound sales, and help us scale from the ground up.
This is not a traditional BDR role. You’ll be our first dedicated sales hire, meaning you’ll play a critical role in shaping our sales motion, refining our go-to-market (GTM) strategy, and laying the foundation for a scalable revenue engine. You’ll need to be experienced, creative, and hungry—ready to roll up your sleeves, experiment, iterate, and execute.
🎯 What You’ll Do:
- Own outbound prospecting—identify, engage, and convert target accounts into sales opportunities.
- Develop and execute creative outreach strategies using personalized email, calls, LinkedIn, and other channels.
- Refine our ideal customer profile (ICP) and messaging based on direct feedback from the market.
- Optimize and build scalable sales processes, from lead generation to qualification and handoff to Account Executives.
- Work closely with the leadership team to shape our GTM motion, sales playbook, and pipeline strategy.
- Track and analyze performance metrics to continually improve outreach efficiency and effectiveness.
- Be a key voice in defining our sales culture and influencing future hires as we scale.
🏆 What We’re Looking For:
- 3+ years of BDR/SDR experience, ideally at a high-growth startup or SaaS company.
- Proven track record of outbound success—you know how to break into accounts and book meetings with key decision-makers.
- Exceptional communication and persuasion skills—you can craft compelling messages and hold meaningful conversations.
- Creative thinker and problem solver—you’re not just following a script; you know how to stand out.
- Process-driven mindset—you love experimenting, measuring, and optimizing.
- Grit and hunger—you thrive in fast-paced environments and are eager to help build something big.
- Ability to work closely with founders and cross-functional teams—you’re comfortable navigating ambiguity and wearing multiple hats.
