About the Role:

Boards is seeking a highly motivated Data Engineer to lead our Data Engineering. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing startup at an early stage as the first in-house Data Engineer, shaping our data infrastructure and strategy from the ground up. This role reports directly to the Data Lead and will play a key part in scaling our data capabilities.

Responsibilities:

• Take full ownership of the company’s data architecture, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Design, build, and maintain data pipelines and datasets to support business growth.
• Play a key role in developing and utilizing LLM models to extract meaningful insights from data.
• Collaborate with data analysts, developers, product managers, finance, and marketing to understand data needs and deliver tailored solutions.
• Maintain and optimize existing production processes to ensure efficiency and reliability.
• Identify company-wide data opportunities, drive impactful initiatives, and lead efforts to implement new tools, workflows, and innovative data solutions.
• Mentor team members by fostering a culture of continuous learning and feedback.
• Evaluate, design, and implement cost-efficient operational processes within our infrastructure.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
• Expertise in advanced SQL, including writing complex, efficient queries and building optimized datasets.
• Proficient in Python and Python-based data tools.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing end-to-end data solutions.
• Hands on experience with ETL processes, incremental data pipelines, and building data lakes and data warehouses on cloud platforms.
• Strong understanding of scalable architecture and big data workflow optimization.
• Demonstrated ability to independently execute projects in fast-paced environments.
• Ability to quickly understand data and business needs and translate them into effective data models.
• Strong sense of ownership and accountability for deliverables.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Highly motivated to lead and take full ownership of the data engineering domain.

Nice to Have:

• Familiarity with tools such as BigQuery, Airflow, Firebase, Google Analytics, MixPanel,  Rivery and data from App Store and Play Store.
• Experience working in a B2C SaaS startup.
