Data Engineer

We are looking for a talented Data Engineer to work on developing Python-based applications and REST API services for Machine Learning (ML) and AI models at one of the largest financial institutions in Israel. In collaboration with data scientists, the team builds data pipelines and deploys ML models in production, delivering significant business value across the organization.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and maintain Python-based applications and services.
• Collaborate with the team to design, develop, and optimize REST APIs, with a primary focus on FastAPI.
• Contribute to the development of data pipelines that support machine learning workflows.
• Oversee the deployment of developed processes into production environments using CI/CD pipelines.
• Ensure robust and efficient code by utilizing best practices and continuous improvement.
• Maintain a deep understanding of data processing, modeling, and integration, ensuring the smooth flow of data across systems.

Job Requirements:

• 4+ years of experience in Python development.
• Proficiency with Git/GitLab and Jenkins, with at least 4+ years of hands-on experience.
• 3+ years of experience in developing REST APIs, particularly with FastAPI.
• 2+ years of experience working with OCP, Kubernetes, and Docker, including building and deploying Docker containers.
• 3+ years of experience writing and optimizing SQL queries.
• 2+ years of experience working with NoSQL databases like MongoDB or HBase.
• 2+ years of experience working within Hadoop environments, including Hive and Spark.
• Experience with Kafka is a plus.
• Familiarity with Machine Learning and Data Science models is a bonus.
