We seek a highly skilled and motivated Senior Backend and Data Engineer with a passion for startups and genuine interest in ML and Data to join our team and lead our technical roadmap and commit to its execution with the rest of our talented engineers.

Primary Responsibilities

• Set architectural standards for the entire R&D department
• Lead the development of critical backend services within the Opmed.ai’s product
• Design & Implement architectural improvements to enable scalability and robustness of our backend solution
• Implement various frameworks to increase delivery velocity & help product maintenance
• Design and maintain schemas and data structures for our product.
• Develop data integration processes and pipelines
• Deliver high-quality SaaS-oriented solutions, in close coordination with the entire R&D department
• Create ETL/Streaming processes to ingest & transform diverse data from customers
• Establish scalable, efficient, automated processes for large-scale data analyses
• Meet the business vision and strategy, in accordance with the product innovation backlog

Requirements

• 5+ years experience as a Backend and Data Engineer or a similar role of working with data.
• High proficiency in Python or Node.js - including web frameworks (eg. Django, Flask, etc)
• High proficiency in AWS - significant understanding of general cloud infrastructure, as well as AWS managed services
• Experience with ML/AI focused products - understanding the core workflows & the architectures to support them
• Experience with both relational databases - e.g., PostgreSQL / MySQL - and NoSQL DBs
• Experience with CI/CD methodologies
• REST API design and development experience
• Experience planning & building data pipelines
• Comfortable with using Git source version control and issue tracking systems
• Data-oriented personality, analytical mind, and problem-solving aptitude
• A team player and a can-do attitude, delivery-oriented
• Fluent in English, both written and verbal - for on-going communication with our offshore partners.
• Accountability & high sense of ownership for your work
• Proven experience in working in an agile, dynamic, startup environment
• Ability to balance between on-going product requirements & technical roadmap agendas
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science
• Excellent decision making, communication and collaboration skills
• Background in MLOps - an advantage
