Job Summary

The Fundraiser will be responsible for identifying and cultivating new funding sources, with a particular emphasis on foundations, to generate income for Beit Issie Shapiro. This role focuses on developing new pipelines for institutional fundraising, primarily within the US and expanding into European and other international markets.

The position involves actively researching potential donors, building relationships, and working collaboratively with the grant writing team and organizational leadership to secure funding.

The ideal candidate will contribute positively to the organizational culture and demonstrate strong collaboration skills while also being able to work independently.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Development:

• Take the lead in identifying and researching new funding opportunities, focusing on foundations as well as corporations and government agencies in the US and internationally.
• Cultivate relationships with potential donors to build a robust pipeline of institutional funding sources that will drive new income for the organization.

Fundraising Execution:

• Manage relationships with new institutional donors and prospects, ensuring their priorities are understood and addressed
• Build and maintain strong connections with new institutional donors.
• Collaborate with the grant writing team to prepare compelling proposals and reports that align with donor expectations and organizational needs.
• Harness the organization’s development database in order to strengthen institutional giving
• Stay informed about trends in institutional philanthropy to adapt strategies and maintain competitiveness.

Relationship Building/Donor Stewardship:

• Oversee the engagement of institutional donors through timely communication and relationship management, ensuring their ongoing support and satisfaction.
• Conduct in-person meetings with foundation representatives to cultivate, solicit and steward relationships as needed, utilizing senior Beit Issie staff where necessary
• Present and give briefings to foundations and others; lead briefings and tours of Beit Issie Shapiro
• Implement donor recognition and engagement strategies to foster long-term partnerships.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in fundraising, with a strong focus on institutional giving.
• Proven track record of identifying and securing new funding sources from foundations (a must), Federations, corporations, and government agencies
• Strong understanding of the philanthropic landscape, particularly in the US (knowledge of other markets is beneficial).
• Willingness to travel for meetings within Israel regularly, and abroad perhaps 4-5 times a year
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences effectively.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to execute plans, processes and strategies effectively.
• Strong familiarity with fundraising databases, donor research tools and CRM systems.
• Comfortable in a cross-functional team setting
• Ability to work independently while also being a strong team player.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field - advantage
