Role Overview

As the first data analyst in the company, you’ll play a key role in building and defining our analytics capabilities from the ground up, collaborating closely with leadership, product, and engineering teams to drive impactful insights that will guide strategic decisions.

This is a highly impactful role with an opportunity to create and scale the analytics infrastructure that will drive the company’s growth. In this role, you’ll help us harness the power of data to optimize our product, marketing, operations, and financials.

What You'll Do

• Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze trends, patterns, and outliers in customer, product, and operational data. Create visualizations and reports that clearly communicate key insights to stakeholders across the company.
• Business Insights & Decision Support: Provide actionable insights to the leadership team to support data-driven decision-making. Help teams optimize customer acquisition and retention.
• Collaboration with the product team: Work closely with product managers to support data-related product initiatives and define product features based on data insights.
• Financial Metrics: Collaborate with the CFO to define and track KPIs that measure the success of our business.
• Ad Hoc Analysis: Perform ad hoc data analysis on various topics as required by different teams (e.g., market segmentation, pricing optimization).

About You

• Experience: 4+ years of experience as a data analyst or similar analytical role. Experience in the insurtech, fintech, or financial services sector is a plus.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• Strong working knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
• Familiarity with Python or R for data analysis is a plus.
• Experience with data warehousing and ETL processes is beneficial.
• Business Smarts: Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable business insights. Knowledge of key business metrics (e.g., churn, LTV, CAC, conversion rates).
• Detail-Oriented & Analytical Mindset: Ability to work with large datasets, paying close attention to detail and ensuring data accuracy.
• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex data to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and understandable way.
• Self-Starter & Problem-Solver: Ability to take initiative, work independently, and thrive in an ambiguous, fast-paced startup environment.
• Education: Degree in a quantitative is a plus.
