Laboratory Engineer

A young laboratory in the Faculty of Biotechnology and Food Engineering

that focuses on: On-chip Synthetic Biology is recruiting

an experienced researcher with motivation for a laboratory management role

combined with active research.

The laboratory develops experimental strategies for assembling "artificial" living systems.

It designs biosynthetic platforms based on cell-free gene expression systems

and on-chip technologies.

Job Responsibilities:

• Active participation in research planning and execution
• Training new users in wet lab work, result analysis, and advanced equipment operation
• Writing scientific reports and developing new protocols
• Managing orders, budgets, laboratory infrastructure, and safety matters

Required Qualifications:

• PhD in scientific fields (Biology/Physics/Chemistry) or Biotechnology and Food Engineering/Chemical/Biomedical/Materials/Mechanical Engineering
• Mandatory: Background in molecular biology
• Minimum two years of experimental work post-doctorate
• Excellent Hebrew and English skills, including high-level writing and article composition
• Postdoctoral experience - an advantage
• Ability to work independently
• A problem-solver, that can manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
