Red Button is a cybersecurity consulting company dedicated to assisting organizations in achieving readiness for DDoS attacks. The way we do it is by simulating DDoS attacks on customers. Some customers are only looking for the attack, some customers want a summary report with recommendations on how to improve their protection based on the simulation, and some customers also want assistance in implementing the recommendations. We also have our DDoS 360 program customers, which are our premium customers that are entitled to simulations, and implementation assistance, and also quarterly resilience assessments, employee training, workforce procedures, and incident response. We've expanded our services beyond DDoS preparedness to encompass the integration of cutting-edge WAAP (WAF & API Protection).

 About the Role

As a Senior Cybersecurity Consultant, you will take ownership of all activities related to DDoS mitigation and resilience, serving as both a technical expert and a strategic advisor to our clients. Your leadership will drive the planning and execution of DDoS simulations, the implementation of advanced cybersecurity measures, and the delivery of our premium security programs.

In this role, you will also act as the technical focal point for our cybersecurity experts, providing guidance and conducting internal training to enhance their skills and knowledge. Beyond your focus on DDoS, you will address broader cybersecurity challenges, including managing Web Application Firewall (WAF) configurations, developing API security strategies, mitigating Account Takeover (ATO) threats, leading Red Team exercises, and conducting cutting-edge cybersecurity research. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic vision, and exceptional communication skills to deliver impactful results while guiding clients through complex security challenges, mentoring them on best practices, and managing critical projects to strengthen their overall security posture.

Key responsibilities include:

●      Conducting DDoS simulations and readiness assessments, identifying gaps, and providing tailored recommendations.

●      Leading implementation efforts to enhance client resilience against DDoS cyber threats.

●      Delivering professional services such as audits, incident response planning, and employee training.

●      Acting as a subject-matter expert for cutting-edge protection platforms and evolving attack strategies.

●      Collaborating with client teams to develop workforce procedures, enhance incident response capabilities, and establish robust cybersecurity frameworks.

●      Staying ahead of the latest trends in network security and DDoS mitigation to continually improve our services.

Candidate Requirements

●      At least 3 years of experience in DDoS mitigation, penetration testing, or similar fields within cybersecurity.

●      Deep understanding of network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS) and cybersecurity principles.

●      Proven ability to lead projects and motivate client teams to achieve security objectives.

●      Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with fluency in English.

●      Demonstrated ability to work independently and solve complex challenges under pressure.

●      Willingness to work occasional nights and weekends for scheduled simulations or IR emergencies.

Preferred Qualifications:

●      Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.

●      Experience in customer-facing roles or professional services.

●      Experience with industry-leading security platforms, such as Cloudflare, Radware, Akamai, and Imperva.

●      Hands-on experience in SOC operations, network security, or penetration testing.

●      Advanced knowledge of networking concepts (e.g., BGP routing, WAF, CDN) and cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS, GCP).

●      Knowledge of scripting and automation for cybersecurity operations.
