The Lab of psychobiology in the department of Neuroscience study the role of mitochondria in the pathophysiology of schizophrenia. We study the effects of mitochondrial deficits on neuronal structure and activity in cell culture and in animal model. In addition we study the mechanism causing the observed deficits in mitochondria and means to reverse it.

We are looking for talented, and motivated Postdoctoral (or PhD) students with prior knowledge in neuronal cell cultures and advanced molecular biology methods who will be able to advance our research on the cause for mitochondrial deficits and its repair. Scientific writing skills are essential.
