A postdoc for high-pressure, high-temperature electrochemistry research

Role Description

We are searching for a postdoc in Chemistry for a fully funded research project in high-pressure, high-temperature electrochemistry. The research will involve studying the reduction of mostly carbonate at extreme conditions. The postdoc will be responsible for building the experimental setup, collecting data, and handling the analysis, including some theoretical aspects.

Qualifications

• Excellent background in electrochemistry. An advantage in working with the electrochemistry of molten salts and CO₂ reduction.
• Good technical approach.
• Ability to work safely and responsibly in a laboratory environment, including careful handling of high-pressure equipment and chemical materials.
• Competence in data analysis, scientific writing, and critical reading of research literature.
• Effective communication skills, willingness to collaborate in a diverse research group, and ability to work independently on assigned projects.
• Proficiency in English for scientific communication; familiarity with Hebrew is beneficial but not required.
• The applicant must be within 3 years of PhD completion.

The project is an interdisciplinary collaboration between my research group at the Institute of Chemistry, Prof. Ronit Kessel from the Institute of Earth Sciences, and researchers from other institutes.
