IT Support Specialist

Weizmann Institute of Science is seeking a talented IT Support Specialist for the Chemical Research Infrastructure Department, reporting to the Tier 2 Team Leader.

About the Role: Join one of Israel's leading scientific institutions and be part of groundbreaking research! As our IT Support Specialist, you'll be responsible for managing computing systems and leading technological projects within the Chemical Research Infrastructure Department.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and support technological projects across the department
• Assist in defining technological solutions and computing equipment requirements
• Maintain vendor relationships and service provider interactions
• Provide ongoing IT support to department staff
• Implement computing services and new technologies
• Manage computing infrastructure needs

Required Qualifications:

• Professional Computer Technician certification
• Minimum 1 year help desk experience (including military service)
• Strong Microsoft environment expertise
• In-depth knowledge of hardware components and drivers
• Fluent in Hebrew and English (written and verbal)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Linux environment experience (significant advantage)
• MAC environment experience
• Scripting knowledge and experience
• Project management experience
• Mobile device troubleshooting experience (Smartphones, Tablets)
