Finance Manager

Job Summary:

Responsible for the financial operations of -Israel site of global organisation ensuring accurate financial reporting, budget management and providing financial guidance to the leadership team. Manages the finance team and the provision of the finance function.

Advises senior management at the Israeli site the and Rome HQ on all financial matters, including performance and risk mitigation.

Leads the Finance team in providing high standards of customer service, financial compliance and best business practice.

Liaison and collaboration with management, Rome HQ, Force and all offices on finance operations, financial accounting and management accounting.

Collaboration with the wider finance teams and other departments across all the company locations.

Reports to the Deputy Director General Representative and working close with the Chief Financial Officer, HQ Rome on all financial matters. Directly manages two employees in the finance team.

Responsibilities:

·      Provides management and direction to the finance team and ensures delivery of the finance function.

·      Leads the Budget, from the creation and prioritization of the annual budget, through quarterly reporting, variance analysis and forecasting, through leadership and collaboration with the Budget Line Managers (BLM). 

·      Provides financial information and advice to senior leaders.

·      Briefs the leadership team and Rome HQ on financial performance, provides explanations for variances and prepares recommendations for future action.

·      Responsible for the provision of the finance function, including, but not limited to, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management and banking, tax, VAT, customs refund requests, travel claims, monthly, quarterly and year end closing, audit and internal controls.

·      Oversees payroll and social benefits obligations working with our external provider.

·      Plans, develops and monitors the performance of staff in the team ensuring that they are motivated, trained and encouraged to the best of their abilities.

·      Monitors and strives for continuous improvement in the services provided by finance, in the use of IT systems and in the finance processes and procedures.

·      Coordinates with Ministry of Defense, tax authorities, banks and all finance stakeholders.

·      Ensures compliance with organisation policies and directives.

·      Ensures adequate control of all cash.

·      Creates, measures and monitors finance performance metrics.

·      Collaborates on the further development of all financial information systems and ensures the correct accounting treatment, within the systems. 

·      Conducts ad-hoc projects and provides financial information as requested.

Qualifications and Experience:

·      Professional Accounting qualification (CPA, CIMA, ACCA, ICAEW or similar).

·      Five years’ financial experience, including 2 years in a supervisory role.

·      Experience working with an international firm or organization is desirable.

·      Significant experience in using ERP (preferably SAP) and complex Excel spreadsheets.

·      Familiarity with banking and financial practices in Israel.

·      Internal controls and risk management experience.

·      Previous management experience and the ability to motivate and mentor others.

·      Experience of U.S. GAAP reporting and “not for profit” accounting rules desirable.

Languages:

Native or near-native English and Hebrew language skills are essential.
