Hardware Team Lead

One of our clients, an industry leader in building automation technology, is looking to hire a Hardware Team Lead - Embedded Systems and Microcontroller Development to drive innovation in their advanced HVAC management solutions.

The ideal candidate will bring robust technical expertise to manage the full lifecycle of hardware design, from concept and testing to production, ensuring high performance and reliability in embedded systems for building automation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Hardware Development Leadership: Lead the end-to-end design and integration of microcontroller-based systems optimized for HVAC applications, with a focus on scalable, energy-efficient, and reliable hardware solutions.
• Embedded System Architecture: Define and implement system architectures supporting efficient power management, data processing, and advanced communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, BACnet, IP) for seamless interoperability within smart building platforms.
• Manufacturing and Compliance: Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure effective production processes, oversee parts procurement, and maintain compliance with industry standards such as RoHS, FCC, and CE.
• IoT and Remote Access Integration: Spearhead IoT capabilities and remote control functionality, collaborating with software teams to enable cloud compatibility and API integration.
• Cybersecurity and Data Protection: Integrate hardware security measures to mitigate cybersecurity risks within embedded systems.
• Team Leadership and Development: Lead and mentor a team of hardware engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and skill development within embedded systems and hardware design.
• Testing and Quality Assurance: Establish rigorous testing protocols and collaborate with QA teams to ensure product reliability and durability across diverse operating conditions.

Required Qualifications:

• Experience:
• Minimum of 5 years in digital and analog electronics, embedded systems, and manufacturing support.
• At least 2 years in a team lead or management role in hardware or embedded systems.
• Experience in manufacturing processes, parts procurement, and compliance with RoHS, FCC, and CE certifications.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficient in microcontroller architectures (e.g., ARM Cortex) and embedded programming (C/C++) with a focus on low-power management.
• In-depth knowledge of communication protocols (Modbus, BACnet, IP) and IoT technologies.
• CAD expertise for schematic and PCB design (e.g., OrCAD, Allegro), plus experience with circuit simulation tools.
• Equipment Skills: Skilled in using digital oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and spectrum analyzers for debugging and validation tasks.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with HVAC or building automation systems.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity practices for embedded devices.
• Familiarity with simulation and testing tools (Keil, IAR, GNU).
