Social Media Manager (US Hours)

Type: Full-time

Location: Jerusalem (Hybrid - 1-2 days a week in the office)

Working Hours:

• Monday: Half-day in the Jerusalem office to attend the weekly marketing meeting
• Sunday, Tuesday to Thursday: Full shifts covering U.S. hours from 4/5 PM to 12 AM/1 AM Israel time.

Role Overview

Jewish News Syndicate (JNS) is seeking a full-time Social Media Manager for our dynamic Marketing Team. This is a hybrid role, based in Israel, with 1-2 days a week in the office. The working hours for this role will be split: four days a week (Sunday, Tuesday to Thursday) will be U.S. hours (4/5 PM to 12 AM/1 AM), while Monday will be a full day in the office on Israel hours to attend meetings and collaborate with the team.

The Social Media Manager will be the online voice and content creator for JNS, responsible for building and maintaining our social media presence across priority platforms, and establishing a consistent look, feel, and tone for all social media content. This role will report to the Director of Marketing and will work closely with other Social Media and Digital Managers to support brand social strategy and organizational goals.

The ideal candidate will be creative, resourceful, and passionate about social media trends, crafting engaging content and growing our online community. A strong connection to Israel and the Jewish world is essential, as our mission is reflected in everything we create.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Manage JNS social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, etc.), including writing, editing, analyzing, and posting content daily
• Collaborate with the social and digital marketing teams to ensure engaging content, driving traffic, and increasing followers
• Create clips and videos for Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube
• Identify and execute strategies for growing social media audiences and deepening engagement
• Produce digital content for virality and audience growth
• Analyze social media data to propose improvements and optimize performance
• Develop digital campaigns to engage new audiences and promote JNS content
• Design social media graphics or collaborate with design vendors
• Assist with content creation for the Engagement, Development, Content, and Program teams as needed (layout, design, writing, editing)
• Other tasks as required by the Director of Marketing

What You Bring:

• 3+ years of experience in social media management, with a proven track record in growing channels and driving engagement
• Native English speaker
• Exceptional writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences and platforms
• Strong understanding of social media trends, best practices, and platform analytics
• Creative mindset with excellent communication skills
• Familiarity with social media analytics tools and scheduling platforms
• Proactive attitude, always looking to bring innovative ideas and solutions to the table
• Basic graphic design and video editing skills (Canva, CapCut, etc.)
• Familiarity with Thought Leadership and Employer Branding is a plus
