Back End Developer

Position Overview:

They are seeking a talented and experienced backend team leader to lead their backend team and contribute to developing their cutting-edge digital health platform. The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining a robust microservices architecture on AWS, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a team of backend developers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
• Design, develop, and maintain a microservices architecture on AWS using TypeScript and other modern technologies.
• Manage microservices' deployment, monitoring, and scaling with tools such as Kubernetes, Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway, EventBridge, ECS, StepFunctions, AppSync, and S3.
• Implement and manage infrastructure as code using CDK, ensuring alignment with deployment processes and CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure backend architecture meets product and business requirements.

Job Requirements:

• Proven experience in backend development: Strong background in building and maintaining scalable backend systems, with a deep understanding of server-side logic, performance optimization, and database management.
• Experience with TypeScript: Hands-on experience developing robust, maintainable, and scalable applications using TypeScript. You should be comfortable writing clean, well-structured code with TypeScript’s static typing.
• Experience with AWS (Amazon Web Services): Extensive experience with AWS services, including but not limited to EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, and others. You should be able to architect, deploy, and maintain cloud-based applications and services on AWS.
• Familiarity with microservices architecture: Proven experience working with microservices, including designing and implementing distributed systems. You should understand how to break down large systems into smaller, independent services that communicate effectively.
• Experience with Kubernetes: Strong knowledge and practical experience in container orchestration using Kubernetes, including deploying, scaling, and managing containerized applications in a production environment.
• Knowledge of deployment processes and CI/CD pipelines: Familiarity with modern deployment practices and tools, particularly in automating software delivery pipelines (CI/CD) to ensure fast, safe, and reliable releases.
• Experience with Python: While not required, having experience with Python will be considered a strong advantage, especially for those integrating different systems or handling specific automation tasks.
• Experience with CDK (Infrastructure as Code): Experience using AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK) is mandatory. You should be able to define cloud infrastructure using code, enabling automated, version-controlled, and repeatable infrastructure deployments.
