Data Engineer

A high-tech company in the sports industry develops an application that monitors various information sources and publishes real-time statistics regarding sports results, data, rankings, and more. The application has exceptional traffic with hundreds of millions of users worldwide and 80 million downloads.

The company collaborates with international companies for user traffic and is rewarded for it.

The average user engagement is very high: users receive over 1,000 push notifications per month and manage about 80 sessions in the app. The app handles over ten billion events each month.

The company was founded by four alumni of elite military technology units.

Located in Tel Aviv near a train line, offers one work-from-home day a week, and has 100 employees. The company is characterized by a dynamic startup atmosphere, with most employees being passionate sports fans. It is dog friendly.

Role Summary-

Reporting to the team leader, joining an existing team, coding in Python, working in an AWS environment, and utilizing Redshift, Snowflake, and Airflow for data design.

Requirements-

• Relevant bachelor's degree – preferably CS, Engineering/ Information Systems, or other equivalent Software Engineering background.
• 5+ years of experience as a Data engineer.
• Strong SQL abilities and hands-on experience with SQL and no-SQL DBs, performing analysis and performance optimizations.
• Hands-on experience in Python or equivalent programming language
• Experience with data warehouse solutions (like Bigquery/ Redshift/ Snowflake or others)
• Experience with data modeling, data catalog concepts, data formats, data pipelines/ETL design, implementation, and maintenance.
• Experience with AWS/GCP cloud services such as GCS/S3, Lambda/Cloud Function, EMR/Dataproc, Glue/Dataflow, and Athena.
