Job Description

The Data Officer role in our bank is a unique opportunity for a data expert to play a key part in creating a unified and accurate data infrastructure that serves as the foundation for business decision-making. The position involves extensive responsibility for defining and maintaining data, close collaboration with both technology and bank departments, and the preparation of reports and dashboards that drive the bank forward. This challenging role combines advanced data analysis, team training, and strategic planning, with the selected candidate becoming a critical function in advancing the bank's data agenda.

Responsibilities

• Defining Metadata and Field Specifications, Creating a unified "banking truth," defining formats, and validating data.
• Point of Contact for Data with the Technology Company : Gathering and prioritising requirements.
• Point of Contact with the Bank: Collecting requirements and providing explanations about the data.
• Preparing Reports, Dashboards and Ad-hoc queries based on the bank's requirements.
• Preparing Annual and Quarterly Work Plans to promote the data agenda within the bank and tracking implementation.
• Data Analysis: Analysing the bank's data as a Data Analyst, with a focus on progressing towards Data Science.
• Data training for bank employees.

Requirements

• Experience of 3-5 years in the data field.
• High-Level SQL Proficiency- Mandatory.
• Familiarity with Snowflake- Advantageous.
• Experience with Data Visualization Tools, Such as Metabase, Tableau, etc.
• Data visualization best practices, dos and don'ts
• Experience with Python- Advantageous.
• Analytical Skills- Ability to analyze complex data and derive business insights.
• Communication Skills- Ability to present data and findings clearly and understandably to managers and various teams.
• Understanding of Visual Representation- Ability to present data visually in an understandable manner.
• Independent Work: Ability to work autonomously with minimal guidance.
• Good Interpersonal Skills: Will be a focal point in both directions.
• Bachelor’s Degree- Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or similar fields – significant advantage.
• Experience in financial fields - Advantageous.
