Data Engineer

A high-tech company has developed a platform for monitoring and measuring online media to prevent irregular activities, such as identifying fake news, controversial content, and digital fraud. The company aims to make the online world safer and more transparent for major brands, believing that its platform serves brands while contributing to a safer digital environment.

Located in Tel Aviv (near a train line), the company employs over 1,000 people globally, with approximately 130 in Israel, and follows a hybrid work model of three days in the office.

The role involves managing a team of four developers and reports to the Director of Development and Data. The position provides services to clients, including developers, data scientists, and analysts.

Tech stack: Python, Scala, SQL, GCP, Databricks, Spark, Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Prometheus, GitLab.

Requirements-

• 4 years of both people and technical management experience, leading a platform/infra/ backend/data engineering team in high scale companies
• A versatile “go to” tech geek, passionate about learning and sharing the latest and greatest Big Data technologies out there (Managed, open source), and use them to deliver state of the art cost effective solutions.
• A team player with great interpersonal and communication skills
• A leader by example
• Actively seek ways to improve development velocity, processes, remove bottlenecks and help those surrounding you grow
• 4 years of experience with one of the following languages: Python, Scala, or any other JVM language.
• Able to take hard decisions with a can-do attitude
• Hands-on in-depth experience with at least 2 of Kafka/Kafka Streams/Spark/Spark structured streams.
• Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases and the different main data architectures
• Experience working with a public cloud provider such as GCP/AWS/Azure
