Sector Specialist

We are seeking for a Sector Specialist to join our team. This is a temporary position (maternity leave replacement). The Data Management team is at the front line of Startup Nation Central’s mission to collect, share and analyze data about Israel’s innovative tech ecosystem. The Sector Specialist has a background in information management and will be responsible for ongoing data updates, data operations, and data quality. The Sector Specialist will work closely with all the Data and Insights team members on project and assignments delivery, as well as collaborate with the Product and R&D teams on implementing data related product features.

Location: Tel Aviv, Hybrid

Finder is the business engagement platform of the Israeli tech ecosystem, creating connections, generating deal flow, and fostering new business opportunities – in addition to delivering actionable insights and valuable data.

Responsibilities:

• Maintaining and improving information about the Israeli innovation ecosystem presented on Startup Nation Finder.
• Collecting data through online research and direct communication with companies.
• Processing and reviewing data to determine its accuracy and relevance.
• Extracting and analyzing data.
• Defining data product feature requirement and supporting development and roll out.
• Coordinating and overseeing key projects and initiatives and mentoring the team members involved.
• Ensuring projects and tasks are on track, and deadlines are met, leveraging tools, and tracking mechanisms for effective project monitoring.
• Communicating progress and providing status updates.

Requirements:

• 4+ years’ experience as a program or project manager or information specialist
• Must possess the following skills: project management, online research, analytical skills and communication skills
• Proficiency in SQL and Excel
• Experience in Jira- advantageous
• Excellent writing in English
• Familiarity with the tech and innovation ecosystem, venture capital and investments
• Ability to gain familiarity of new domains quickly and comprehensively
• Ability to work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines, and multi-task
• Background in technological or quantitative domains - advantageous
