Head of R&D

We are looking for a seasoned Head of R&D to lead our R&D team in the Israeli branch of a global startup with offices in Tel Aviv and across Europe. The product is designed to meet the complex demands of large enterprise clients. The ideal candidate will possess a robust technical background, proven leadership skills, and a passion for driving innovation and excellence in R&D.

This role is perfect for a skilled Team Leader ready to advance into a Head of R&D or Group Lead position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a small R&D team, comprising a group of 8, at the Tel Aviv site.
• Be hands-on in development, actively participating in coding and technical problem-solving.
• Design and oversee high-level technical architecture for products and solutions.
• Maintain a high hands-on to managing ratio.
• Mentor and hire new developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Attend meetings with clients to understand their needs and provide technical insights.
• Involve in tech groups within the company’s partners and subsidiaries to ensure cohesive and integrated technological advancements.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in an R&D management role in a technology-driven company.
• Proven track record in R&D leadership within a technology-focused organization.
• Strong hands-on development expertise with Node.js, TypeScript, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Deep knowledge of database technologies (MySQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch, Snowflake) and data integration.
• Experience managing and scaling enterprise-grade applications.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in large-scale data integration, database management, ERP systems, and handling large volumes of transactions.
