Data Scientist

A startup company in the AI field has developed a product for price optimizations within the supply chain and shipping sectors. The product leverages multiple layers of artificial intelligence and machine learning, handling an infinite number of formats and free text, which translates into rapid computation, precise calculations, and significant cost savings for organizations.

The company is located in the Sharon area, offers a hybrid work model with one day working from home, and has about 35 employees. The company is funded with $35M.

Role Overview:

As part of the core product team, this role involves end-to-end Data Science tasks, including both theoretical and engineering aspects of deployment in production. The position focuses on solving complex NLP challenges, particularly with Large Language Models (LLMs), using ML/DL methods. The role includes extracting unstructured data and transforming it into structured, rich, and diverse data, working with AI models and tools such as NLTK, PEFT, TRL, PyTorch, OpenAI, and Transformers. The tasks also involve fine-tuning and optimizing models, with coding in Python in an AWS environment.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and deploy state-of-the-art NLP models and algorithms to solve complex problems in the logistics domain.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate NLP solutions into the products and services.
• Conduct research and stay up to date with the latest advancements in NLP and AI technologies.
• Optimize and fine-tune NLP models for performance, scalability, and accuracy.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance the team members.
• Analyze and process large datasets to extract valuable insights and drive data-driven decisions.
• Develop and maintain robust, scalable, and efficient codebases and documentation.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices for software development.

Requirements-

• Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Statistics, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in NLP, ML, and AI.
• Strong programming skills in Python and proficiency with NLP libraries and frameworks (e.g., NLTK, Transformers, PEFT, TRL, PyTorch, OpenAI).
• Proven track record of deploying NLP models in production environments.
• Strong understanding of deep learning techniques and algorithms.
• Strong familiarity with Generative AI, LLMs, and Transformers
• Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) and their applications.
• Experience with Parameter-Efficient Fine-Tuning (PEFT) techniques for model fine-tuning optimization.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think critically and creatively.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
• Experience in the logistics industry is an advantage.
