Database Administrator

We are seeking an experienced and technical *Database Administrator (DBA)* to take ownership of our database systems, ensuring high performance, security, scalability, and reliability. This role requires strong hands-on expertise in SQL and deep understanding of database architecture and optimization.

This position is best suited for a strategic and analytical thinker who is also a strong problem solver, capable of managing complex database environments while contributing to long-term system improvements.

*Key Responsibilities*

* Design, manage, and maintain database systems
* Write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries and database structures
* Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies for efficiency and scalability
* Manage indexing, stored procedures, views, and query optimization
* Ensure database integrity, security, access control, and compliance standards
* Perform regular backups, recovery planning, and disaster recovery testing
* Identify root causes of database issues and implement long-term solutions
* Collaborate with technical and operational teams to support reporting and data needs
* Improve database architecture, automation, and system efficiency
* Provide technical guidance and best practices for database usage across teams

*Qualifications*

* 2+ years of experience as a Database Administrator
* Strong SQL skills (required) – query writing, optimization, and debugging
* Proven experience with relational database systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle)
* Strong experience in database performance tuning and optimization
* Solid understanding of database design, indexing, and normalization principles
* Strong analytical thinking and advanced problem-solving skills
* Ability to think strategically and evaluate systems from a big-picture perspective
* Experience with database security, backup, and disaster recovery processes
* Excellent communication skills in English
* Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment
