The Israel Innovation Institute (NGO) is looking for a Head of Healthcare Innovation Sector and Director for HealthIL, who will grow healthcare innovation activities in Israel in the coming years.

About HealthIL

HealthIL is the leading Healthcare Innovation Ecosystem in Israel, aiming to foster technological transformation in healthcare systems, both in Israel and globally. HealthIL is operated by the Israel Innovation Institute and supported by the Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Health, the National Digitalization Office, and the Israel Innovation Authority.

Our mission is to improve healthcare by bridging the gap between healthcare systems and technology, building innovation infrastructures, and addressing regulatory hurdles. Since its establishment in 2018, HealthIL has made a significant impact in driving innovation in Israel's healthcare system.

Through our support and leadership, the number of innovation managers in healthcare has grown from 4 to 126, and the number of startups and tech companies providing healthcare solutions has increased from only 370 to over 1,100. Our efforts have led to the more than 1,300 pilots to date and the implementation of over 160 projects in the Israeli healthcare system.

HealthIL has led many initiatives, including various delegations for knowledge sharing, workshops and round tables on innovation management and fostering partnerships. Through these activities and an ecosystem-to-ecosystem approach, HealthIL has established itself as a key player in the global healthcare landscape, actively contributing to the advancement of healthcare systems worldwide.

Over the years, the HealthIL team has promoted flagship topics of national and global importance, such as: Health Equity, Burnout of Healthcare Employees, Elderly Health, Cloud Policy in Healthcare, Climate Health, Rehabilitation, Healthcare Industry 4.0 and more.

In the last two years, HealthIL has been expanding and deepening its activities, promoting models and activities for collaborations in Europe, mapping and making resources accessible, working across sectors with additional significant stakeholders (corporations, investors), while simultaneously deepening activities in Israel.

After years of successful activity, we are looking for an Executive Director who will continue

the work with great success and expand HealthIL’s activities into additional areas.

Job Description and Areas of Responsibility

This is a key position - managing the joint activities of HealthIL while expanding and growing the operations, developing cross-sectoral processes in the ecosystem while coordinating and synchronizing with professional government entities. The activity includes working with all players in the relevant ecosystem across different sectors (public and private) to promote ongoing growth.

Areas of Responsibility

Ø Managing an excellent team of employees who are experts in their field

Ø Strategic planning, building and implementing a work plan according to ecosystem needs and governmental opportunities in Israel and abroad

Ø Budget management, resource mobilization, and maintaining budget balance

Ø Leading complex cross-sectoral initiatives in significant growth areas

Ø Coordination and synchronization with various government entities

Ø Building relationships and collaborations with stakeholders in the field

Ø Advancing existing partnerships and developing new partnerships with global players

Ø Responsibility for market research, identifying significant trends in the ecosystem and technological trends

Ø Managing a database, synchronizing across all platforms, and internal organizational documentation

Job Requirements

• A leader of people - no less! - Management experience is mandatory, including successes and leading team members to growth and development
• In-depth knowledge and work experience in the health sector is mandatory, including in healthcare systems, startups, working with corporations, regulation, and more
• Experience in working interfaces with various government entities - an advantage
• Ability to maintain daily interpersonal contact with a large number of people and high synchronization capability
• Proven experience in creating collaborations and/or changing processes with various factors
• Ability to lead a process from end to end in an independent work environment
• Ability to identify needs and challenges of different stakeholders and respond accordingly
• Attention to details, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
• High level proficiency in Hebrew and English
