Mechanical Engineer

Nexite is a dynamic and innovative startup that’s digitizing the physical world by turning passive items into active communicators.

We are developing a connectivity platform, enabling to engage with physical items as if they were digital, empowering retail to become data-driven, frictionless, and personalized. Nexite's miniature IoT tag can be read by any smartphone, costs a fraction of the cost of similar tags, and is small enough to embed into the item. Using just one tag, Nexite's platform provides item tracking and inventory transparency from manufacturing to the customer’s closet, up-to-the-minute live in-store inventory & fitting rooms analytics, secure “Just Go” self-checkout, personalized in-store IoT experience and post-sale tools with a Smart Closet at the customer’s home.

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to become a part of our dynamic HW team.

Responsibilities:

Lead the mechanical design and development of multi-disciplinary systems.

• Perform detailed mechanical designs, including: structural elements, electromechanical systems, manual and motorized mechanisms and create detailed 3D models and technical drawings using CAD software.
• Provide support for assembly line, failure analysis and troubleshooting.
• Assemble and test early prototypes.
• Supervise and collaborate with subcontractors on systems and components development.
• Develop and implement mechanical testing protocols and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Optimize designs for cost, performance, and manufacturability.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in mechanical engineering and related technologies.
• Work independently and as a team member including global collaboration.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary R&D teams, such as Antennas, System, HW and ATE.
  
  

• BSc degree in mechanical engineering – (required)
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in mechanical design – (required)
• Proficiency in SolidWorks – (required)
• Strong knowledge in writing requirements and specification documents – (required)
• Expertise in planning drawings and practical machine assembly – (required)
• Understanding plastic mold design and metal fabrication, CNC machining, and 3D printing – (required)
• Experience in design for manufacturing (DFM), assembly (DFA), service (DFS), cost (DFC) – (preferred)
• Experience in production engineering, including material engineering – (preferred)
• Ability to introduce a broad system perspective
• Excellent communication skills, and a team player
• Willingness to take responsibility for new fields
• Proficiency in English – (required)
