Director of Research Development

BlueCircle AI is a leading provider of SAAS innovative AI solutions for continuous optimization of the entire value chain in Agri and Food industries. Our product allows any businesses of any size to optimize its operations, enhance productivity, reduce risks, and drive sustainable growth. We currently focus on the wine industry, but our solutions also work well in Beverage, Seeds, and Fresh Produce sectors.

We are seeking an experienced Director of R&D to lead and manage our research and development team in the development process of our company’s business applications. The Director of R&D will oversee the end-to-end development of new features, contribute to the design of the system architecture and data pipelines, and motivate and empower the research team to deliver exciting new features to our users.

• Become an important member of and contribute to the strategic management team.
• Direct all Research and Development (R&D) activities to align with company strategic objectives.
• Lead, motivate, and manage a high-performing team of R&D professionals.
• Accountable for all R&D activities, including development schedules, quality, and R&D budget.
• Oversee project development from inception to completion.
• Ensure seamless product transfer in NPI phase from development to customers and support.
• Mentor the R&D team in systems design and development.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and partners, both internal and external, to understand market needs and customer challenges.
• Liaise with sales to develop new products and innovation strategies.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in an R&D role within the software industry, preferably SAAS.
• At least a BA in science, technology, engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience in managing an R&D team.
• Proven experience in building data-driven backend processes, preferably in Python.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver features end-to-end.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Exceptional technical knowledge and thought leadership.

• Proven experience with our tech stack: PostgreSQL, Pandas, FastAPI.
• Familiarity with our infrastructure stack: Docker, Kubernetes, Azure, PostgreSQL, Serverless architecture.

• Hybrid work environment (1 day work from home).
