Researcher

The appointee will provide research support within current projects and will also be able to develop their own unique studies that promote the objectives of Goshen. Applicants should have a Doctoral Degree in a relevant field such as Psychology, Public Health, or Social Science. The candidate will be responsible for working closely with project leads and various stakeholders. They will be responsible for data management and analysis, preparing reports for the project leads, and contributing to scientific papers (as lead and co-author). There may be some supervision of junior staff including students so some pastoral supervision experience would be beneficial. The applicant should be research-oriented, self-motivated and passionate about improving health understanding and services in Israel. We are particularly interested in candidates whose research addresses questions surrounding population health and/or child development.

This is a hybrid role offered on a full-time permanent basis, the main offices are located in Jerusalem.

Essential qualifications/experience

-         A PhD in a relevant subject

-         Experience in the field of child and adolescent mental health

-         Excellent working knowledge of statistical software such as Stata or R

-         Experience in preparing reports and conducting public and/or child health research.

-         Fluent in Hebrew and English

-         Independently develop research methodologies and deliver projects

-         Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders including academics, clinicians and public health professionals.

-         A record of at least three publications in internationally recognised journals.

Desirable

-         Experience in the field of child and adolescent mental health

-         Advanced analytical skills

-         Experience in managing or mentoring junior staff

-         Previous experience with epidemiological research and/or complex datasets

-         Experience with healthcare providers such as HMO’s
