Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled and innovative Machine Learning Engineer to join our team. This role is crucial in designing, building, and deploying machine learning models that enhance various aspects of the retail supply chain. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machine learning engineering, a deep understanding of the retail industry, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and deploy machine learning models to solve complex supply chain problems.
• Work closely with data scientists to implement and optimize algorithms for real-time and batch processing.
• Design and develop scalable machine learning pipelines for production.
• Monitor, maintain, and improve the performance of deployed models.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver impactful solutions.
• Implement best practices for code quality, model management, and deployment.
• Stay current with advancements in machine learning, software engineering, and the retail supply chain industry.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to machine learning model performance and deployment.
• Document processes, models, and methodologies to ensure reproducibility and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of proven experience as a Machine Learning Engineer or similar role, preferably in the retail or supply chain industry.
• Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python and Java.
• Experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn.
• Expertise in building and deploying machine learning models using tools like MLflow, TensorFlow Serving, or ONNX.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP and experience with cloud-based ML services.
• Proficiency in containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Beam.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles, version control, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
• Experience with real-time data processing and streaming technologies such as Kafka or Flink.
• Knowledge of advanced machine learning techniques such as deep learning, reinforcement learning, and ensemble methods.
• Familiarity with edge computing and IoT devices in a retail environment.
• Experience in developing APIs and integrating machine learning models into existing systems.
