Financial Controller

Description

Mirror Biologics, Ltd. (Jerusalem), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mirror Biologics, Inc. (Tampa, FL USA) is looking for a talented Controller to join our team in Har-Hotzvim, Jerusalem. Mirror is a private, clinical stage biopharmaceutical company specializing in development, manufacturing and clinical testing of novel immunotherapy treatments where the active ingredients are living immune cells. As a financial Controller you will be responsible for the financial reports and accounting functions in Israel, including timely and accurate reporting and preparation of financial statements in accordance with both US GAAP and local Israel requirements in preparation for listing on a public stock exchange. Direct reporting to the General Manager in Israel and working in close collaboration with the Chief Financial Officer of the parent company. The candidate will also be the point of contact for banks, auditors, and tax authorities. 

Responsibilities

• Supervise and guides all accounting functions in Israel reporting to the General Manager and in collaboration with the parent company CFO;
• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, overseeing the preparation of necessary financial statements, tax filings, and assisting with generating consolidated financial statements;
• Establish and oversee internal finance functions, including bookkeeping, payroll/benefits, procurement, inventory, and legal;
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP standards, managing accounting procedures including Revenue Recognition (ASC 606), R&D Capitalization (ASC 840), Lease Accounting, and additional regulatory requirements;
• Ensure compliance with Israel tax regulations and assist in international tax-related matters;
• Support in preparing management reports and presentations for board meetings;
• Drive system enhancements and identify opportunities to optimize processes;
• Manage audit processes and work closely with external auditors during the annual audit in coordination with parent company CFO. Liaison with independent auditors to resolve technical accounting matters in a timely manner;
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly and yearly financial reporting.
• Manage and comply with government reporting requirements, Tax filing and Chief Scientist/Innovation authority reporting.
• Responsible for establishing effective communication and coordination with other Depts. of the company (i.e. Purchasing, Operations, Manufacturing, Inventory/Warehouse, Planning, Logistics).
• Participating in annual budgeting process and establishing systems for monitoring and reporting on budget deviations and establishment of an internal financial control system.

Job Requirements and Advantages

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting and a CPA.
• Strong knowledge of Cost accounting, TAX and OCS/IA
• Strong Computer experience with MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PPT)
• Proven managerial experience and managerial abilities.
• Excellent communication skills in both Hebrew and English.
• Previous auditing experience, with a BIG 4 accounting firm – An advantage.
• Minimum 3 years of previous experience in GAAP accounting and financial reporting in a global organization – An advantage
• Strong knowledge of ERP, Preference to Priority - An advantage.
• Highly motivated and hard-working person able to build finance department that is suitable for a public company.
