R&D Chemist – Innovative Startup Company (3070)

Job Description: We are seeking a talented and motivated R&D Chemist to join a research and development team in an innovative startup company. This role requires a strong background in chemistry, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and optimize protocols for the extraction of bioactive compounds from biomass.
• Perform extractions using solvents, liquid-liquid extraction, and purification techniques, including column chromatography.
• Utilize analytical methods (e.g., UV-Vis spectrophotometry) to quantify compound concentrations.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to achieve project goals.
• Lead project initiatives, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met.
• Work independently, demonstrating strong self-motivation and organizational skills.
• Prepare technical reports and present findings.
• Develop and optimize chemical processes for new and existing products.
• Conduct experiments, analyze data, and interpret results to drive project success.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of research activities and findings.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations in all research activities.
• Present research findings and progress to internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• PhD degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field, or Master’s degree with substancial industry experience.
• Experience with extraction and refinement of natural substances for chemical research from biological materials.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects and work independently.
• Familiarity with chromatographic techniques (e.g., HPLC, GC) – Preferred.
• Experience in scale-up processes from laboratory to pilot plant – Preferred.
• Understanding of biotechnological applications in nutraceuticals – Preferred.
• Good English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
