Senior Backend Engineer

About the role

As a Back-End Developer at Our company, you'll be responsible for the server-side

code and APIs of our web applications. You'll be involved in the entire product development process.

lifecycle, including design, development, deployment, and maintenance of new and

existing features. Your work will impact the stability and quality of our web applications. You'll

write reusable and maintainable code. Ultimately, you'll be the driving force behind all

back-end activities.

As a crucial early team member, you'll play a significant role in making important

architectural decisions that will shape our technology stack for years to come.

Responsibilities:

1. Architect and develop high-performance, scalable, and resilient backend services

and APIs, primarily using NodeJS, TypeScript, and AWS.

2. Utilize and integrate advanced data storage solutions like MongoDB, Elasticsearch,

Redis, and Neo4J to build robust data-driven applications.

3. Collaborate closely with product management and frontend development teams to

gather requirements, define technical solutions, and ensure seamless integration with

frontend systems.

4. Design, develop, and manage database schemas and data models, employing ORM

frameworks such as TypeORM for optimal performance and maintainability.

5. Implement strategies to optimize application performance, ensuring high availability,

scalability, and system resilience.

6. Keep abreast of the latest industry trends in backend development and emerging

technologies to enhance our technology stack and practices continually.

Requirements:

1. minimum of 6 years of professional experience in backend development, with a

strong focus on NodeJS and TypeScript.

2. Proven expertise in designing and building RESTful APIs that are scalable and

maintainable.

3. Demonstrated experience handling large-scale databases and designing

efficient, reliable database schemas.

4. In-depth knowledge of AWS & Kubernetes services.

5. Exceptional problem-solving abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and a

commitment to producing high-quality code.

6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in English.

7. Prior experience in a dynamic startup environment will be considered an asset.

8. Familiarity with NestJS and experience with ORM tools like TypeORM will be highly

advantageous.

It would be great if you had:

● Hands-on experience with Snowflake, DBT, Prefect or Airflow

● Previous experience working in a startup environment

● Research experience in data-related fields or databases
