Senior Backend Engineer

We are looking for a highly technical, hands-on Platform Backend Engineer to join our Platform team.
This is a key technical leadership role for a senior backend/platform engineer who combines deep platform expertise with strong collaboration and communication skills. You will help shape the foundations of our engineering platform, lead important technical initiatives, and drive improvements in the way we build, deliver, and operate software.
The role is ideal for someone who is not only technically strong, but also a true people person - someone who enjoys working closely with others, building trust, creating alignment, mentoring teammates, and leading through influence. You will partner closely with engineers, product, and architects, and play a central role in improving both the platform itself and the engineering environment around it.

5+ years of hands-on experience in backend and platform engineering roles
5+ years of experience designing and building large-scale backend systems using Java
2+ years of experience working with Python (Advantage)
3+ years of hands-on experience with Kubernetes and modern cloud-native architectures in production environments
Strong experience designing and architecting scalable, reliable, and maintainable production systems
Solid experience working with relational databases and SQL
Proven experience improving engineering processes, development workflows, and technical standards, with strong understanding of software engineering best practices, clean design, and functional and non-functional requirements
Proven ability to lead technical initiatives, influence without authority, and drive alignment across teams through strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a proactive, supportive, and ownership-driven mindset
Practical experience with AI development tools such as Cursor or
