Snap Lab is home to our hardware products with a world-class research & development team. We are focused on pushing the boundaries of what a camera can be, specifically overlaying computing on the real world. Next Generation Spectacles are our first pair of glasses that bring augmented reality to life.

We’re looking for a Machine Learning Engineer to join Snap Inc!

What you’ll do:

• Hold a core position in a senior, multidisciplinary team that develops a novel Brain Computer Interface (BCI) device
• Conceive, design, implement, and evaluate deep learning models and pipelines
• Follow cutting edge research and apply findings to help solve challenging product problems
• Prototype new ideas and conduct experiments
• Collaborate with members of other disciplines to design and develop a new product
  
  

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Ability to read and implement related academic literature in deep learning
• Ability to ideate, conduct, and present academic level research
• Ability to prioritize research directions in order to execute against defined objectives
• Excellent communication skills
• A drive to invent and explore new technologies
• Outstanding problem solving skills
• Creativity to solve complex problems in new, multi-disciplinary ways
  
  

Minimum Qualifications:

• Advanced degree in a related technical field such as computer science or equivalent years of experience
• 4+ years of research or industry experience working with state-of-the-art machine learning, deep learning, and/or advanced statistical techniques
• Proficiency coding in Python
• Experience manipulating data sets and building statistical models
  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• BCI Experience
• Experience applying deep learning techniques to bio-signal, speech or other continuous signals
• Experience with reinforcement learning
• Software development experience
• Experience in developing deep learning systems in production
• Experience working within a cloud based environment
