Overview:

We are seeking an exceptional (50% hands on) Data Science team leader to lead our data science team of 4 people. This role is pivotal in driving our e-commerce organization's automatic pricing framework through the development and testing of data science models. The ideal candidate will have a strong combination of leadership skills and technical expertise. This role will involve close collaboration with local Product Managers, Analytics Teams and Engineering teams, as well as our overseas headquarters.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Leadership & Management: Provide leadership, mentorship, and direction to a talented team of data scientists. Ensure that the team is aligned with the company’s objectives, delivering high-quality results, and continuously improving.

2. Collaboration: Work closely with Product Managers, Analytics Teams, Engineering teams, and overseas counterparts to translate business needs into data science solutions.

3. Model Development & Testing: Oversee the development, testing, and implementation of statistical and machine learning models that underpin our large-scale automatic pricing framework.

Qualifications & Experience:

- MSc/PhD in Statistics, Operations Research or a related field from a leading institute.

- Experience in working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.

- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

- Ability to work in a global team and navigate cross-cultural challenges.

- Strong project management skills with a focus on execution and results.

- Minimum of 1+ years of experience in leading a data science team.

- Hands on experience with statistical modeling and machine learning.

- Hands on Experience with linear and non linear Optimization models

- Experience with optimized local search models - advantage.

- Proficiency in relevant data science tools and programming languages.

- Excellent English (spoken and written).
