Senior Data-BE Engineer

As a Senior Data Engineer at Via, you’ll join an energetic team and take a key role in our site in TLV. The position is to be part of a super-talented & motivated Development team responsible for Via’s Mapping Data Management team. You will be leading development and working with a huge amount of geographic data to serve, highly complex and mapping data: Spatial, Topology, and Graph data.

What You’ll Do:

• You will be responsible for scalable data, pipeline, and backend services with challenging geographic data algorithms.
• Participate in the development cycle end-to-end – architecture, design, development, QA, deployment, and monitoring.
• Work with talented engineers, and a broad forum of experts and stakeholders to create a stable and scalable product.
• Build highly scalable, efficient, and available data pipelines/solutions, serving our data across the organization and to stakeholders.
• Monitor data quality, proactively correcting discrepancies ensuring data reliability & accuracy.
  
  

Who You Are:

• Minimum of 4+ years of experience as a Backend/Data Engineer - Must.
• Minimum of 4+ years of experience with Microservices BE development in scale - Must.
• Minimum of 2+ years of experience with Python \SQL - Must.
• Experience in working with cloud providers (AWS/GCP/Azure) - Must.
• Experience with Serverless and Kubernetes - Must.
• Experience in executing Big Data solutions and in processing Relational DBs - Advantage.
• An independent, self-learner who is passionate about data, understands business processes, and can translate business needs into data models.
• Have a passion for technology, identify needs, design POC and implement result solutions.
• Work with a complex technological environment.
• Experience with PostGIS - a big advantage.
• BSc/MSc in Computer Science or equivalent.
