Director of R&D - Full Stack Engineering (Early-Stage Startup)

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Hands-On Director of R&D with a strong background in full stack engineering and proven leadership experience, to join an early stage startup focused on AI Component matching backed by a team of expert engineers.

In this role, you will lead the R&D team, drive the development of innovative products, and play a crucial role in our growth and success. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement solutions that meet our business goals and exceed customer expectations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the R&D team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Oversee the entire product development lifecycle, from ideation to deployment and maintenance.
• Design and implement scalable, robust, and secure full stack solutions.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks, ensuring the stability and performance of our products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in full stack engineering, with a strong focus on both front-end and back-end development.
• 5+ years of experience in a managerial or leadership role, preferably in an R&D or product development environment.
• Proficiency in multiple programming languages and frameworks (e.g., JavaScript, React, Node.js, Python, etc.).
• Previous experience in building web applications, UX/UI design principles and Writing unit tests- A must
• Experience with RESTful API Development- an advantage
• Experience with database management, containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)- advantage
• Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and data structures.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality.
• Proven track record of successfully leading and delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
