Postdoctoral Researcher

The Technion Complex Fluids Lab at Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, Israel, seeks a postdoc with a background in simulations, in particular, with a background in OpenFOAM, to work on a multidisciplinary project as part of an international collaboration between Technion (Asst. Prof. Evgeniy Boyko) and Princeton University (Prof. Howard A. Stone), funded by NSF-BSF program.

The successful candidate will join an international team and work closely with two Ph.D. students and Asst. Prof. E. Boyko and Prof. H. A. Stone on rationalizing and resolving a mismatch of experiments and simulations for viscoelastic channel flows.

As part of the collaboration and training, a postdoc is expected to visit Princeton University.

Responsibilities

• Lead simulations performance and manage a computational cluster.
• Manage a multidisciplinary research project from conception through publication.
• Acquire new skills and knowledge as required to carry out the research project.
• Meet weekly for updates on the progress and discussions.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Mechanical, Chemical, Aerospace Engineering, Physical Sciences, or Applied Math.
• A background in fluid mechanics is required.
• A strong and proven background in simulations using OpenFOAM is required.
• A background in non-Newtonian fluids is an advantage.
• A solid publication track.
• Ability to read scientific literature.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to take initiative and work independently.
• A love and passion for scientific research.
