What are we looking for?

The Detection Engineering organization is looking for an experienced engineering manager to lead our Static AI team. The Static AI team develops state-of-the-art machine learning models that operate on millions of machines across the world to make sub-second decisions to stop malware before it runs. The team brings together cross-functional skill sets including data science, ML engineering, and software engineering, to research, develop, ship, and support ML malware detection engines across Windows, Mac, and Linux machines and cloud environments.

You will work on real-world problems and make an impact by protecting our customers from cyber threats. You will be joining a cutting-edge project and will be able to influence the architecture, design, and structure of our core platform. You will tackle extraordinary challenges and work with the very BEST in the industry.

What will you do?

• Mentor and lead a team in a globally distributed organization
• Foster a culture of mutual respect, collaboration and consensus based decision-making
• Lead the efficient delivery for time-boxed software releases, ensuring high quality and innovative feature development
• Active participation in ML research and model development, getting hands-on as needed
• Support the development and training of direct reports through regular 1-on-1s and performance evaluations
• Participate in interviewing and drive hiring and team growth

• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• Significant experience managing teams of software engineers and/or data scientists
• Significant hands-on work in machine learning, so you understand the core principles of the work that is going on in your team
• Demonstrated track record delivering software products
• Willingness to be a role model in a diverse, globally distributed team
