We seek a highly qualified Director of Product - Synthetic Biology to lead the strategic development, execution, and commercialization of our gene optimization and design services. This senior-level role will serve as the primary scientific expert and interface between our customer base, business development team, and internal R&D efforts.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving the commercial success and growth of MNDL Bio's synthetic biology offerings. By serving as the primary scientific expert and customer advocate, this individual will help bridge the gap between our technical capabilities and the evolving needs of the market.

Core Responsibilities:

• Develop a deep understanding of customer needs, pain points, and identify unmet needs in the gene optimization and bioengineering markets.
• Serve as the scientific expert, translating complex technical concepts into business value for current and prospective customers.
• Act as the scientific liaison between customers and the R&D team. Collaborate closely with the CEO, CBO, and technical team to ensure the product roadmap aligns with market dynamics and customer feedback.
• Develop and execute a comprehensive product roadmap that aligns with market needs, customer feedback, and the company's strategic goals.
• Provide technical expertise and support during customer discussions, demonstrations, and contract negotiations.
• Analyze market trends, competitive intelligence, and customer feedback to guide product roadmap, pricing decisions, and strategic partnerships.
• Identify opportunities and forge strategic partnerships with Biofoundries, CROs, and other industry players to expand MNDL Bio's service offerings and reach.
• Contribute to the overall growth and strategic direction of the company as a member of the leadership team.

Requirements:

• Advanced degree (PhD preferred) in a relevant field such as molecular biology, synthetic biology, or biotechnology.
• Minimum 7-10 years of experience in product management, technical consulting, or a similar customer-facing role within the synthetic biology, biotechnology, or related industries (e.g., pharmaceuticals, industrial biotech). .
• Demonstrated ability to translate complex scientific concepts into business-oriented solutions and value propositions.
• Strong technical expertise and hands-on molecular biology techniques
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with the latest trends, technologies, and market dynamics in the synthetic biology/biotech space.
• Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Advantage: Experience in using molecular biology software and tools.
