Head of Engineering

A cutting-edge defense company in the north is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Engineering to lead their engineering team. She/He will be at the forefront of innovation, driving excellence in production and development processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership: Manage a dynamic team of 10 engineers, providing leadership and guidance in engineering support for both production and the development of new product derivatives.
• Project Oversight: Take full ownership of transfer processes from development to production, overseeing planning and development phases through to serial production.
• Process Improvement: Lead improvement initiatives, focusing on streamlining, automation, and instrumentation in the production lines to enhance efficiency and quality.
• Documentation Management: Oversee product trees, production files, configuration management, engineering change order (ECO), and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Global Expansion: Lead knowledge transfer projects and provide support for establishing production lines abroad, contributing to the company's global growth.
• Collaboration: Work closely with production, procurement, quality assurance, and work development teams, fostering collaboration across various departments.

Requirements:

• Educational Background: A degree in electronics/mechanics/electro-optics engineering-mandatory
• Leadership Experience: Minimum of five years of experience in managing teams of a minimum of 6 engineers- mandatory
• Production Transition Expertise: Proven experience in transferring projects from development to production, including preparation of production files- mandatory
• Technical Competence: Strong command of configuration control, engineering change order (ECO), and product trees.
• Management Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead, with strategic vision, organizational prowess, service consciousness, excellent human relations, and assertiveness.
• Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with mechanics and electronics; proficiency in SOLIDWORKS software- advantage.
• ERP Proficiency: Experience working with an ERP system.
• Language Skills: highly professional English.
• Willingness to Travel: Ready to undertake international travel as required.
