About the role:

We are seeking a visionary and dynamic VP R&D to lead our research and development team. The Head of R&D will be responsible for driving the development of cutting-edge lossless data compression technologies and products. Working closely with the CTO, this role involves strategic planning, overseeing the research and development process, fostering innovation, and leading the team towards achieving the company’s technological goals.

Responsibilities: 

• Setting strategic direction and priorities for the development of new technologies and products.
• Oversee the entire development lifecycle, from conceptualization to deployment, ensuring projects meet quality standards and are delivered on time and within budget.
• Foster a culture of innovation within the team, encouraging creative problem-solving and exploration of new ideas.
• Work closely with the CTO and collaborating with other departments, including marketing, sales, and customer support, to align R&D roadmap with market needs and company goals.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive products to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
• Develop and manage the R&D budget, allocating resources effectively to maximize innovation and product development.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the R&D team, recruiting top talent and providing opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications:

• B.Sc. and an advanced degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a similar degree
• 7+ years of experience leading, managing, and scaling R&D teams, in startup environments
• Deep understanding of the latest trends and technologies in data compression and data management.
• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team of highly skilled professionals.
• Excellent strategic planning and project management abilities.
