Technical Development Manager

Overview:

Reporting directly to our CTO, the Technical Development Manager for our India operations oversees day-to-day team activities, ensuring high productivity, adherence to quality standards, and effective implementation of development processes within our India-based development and QA teams. Specializing in the e-commerce sector, this remote management role demands seamless collaboration with our development teams in India and our executive team in the USA.

With a strong emphasis on day-to-day team management, the Manager will lead the swift identification and resolution of software bugs, oversee the timely implementation of new initiatives, and continuously optimize development processes. The role requires close collaboration with project managers, development leads, and QA teams to foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and effective communication.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Management:

• Oversee the day-to-day activities of the development and QA teams, ensuring high productivity and adherence to quality standards.
• Provide guidance and support to team leads, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

Bug Resolution and Initiative Implementation:

• Lead and guide development teams in the swift identification and resolution of software bugs, maintaining a high standard of quality.
• Oversee the timely implementation of new initiatives, coordinating with project managers and development leads.

Process Optimization:

• Continuously assess and enhance development processes to maximize efficiency and reduce bug resolution time.
• Implement best practices and methodologies, including Waterfall, Agile, Scrum, Kanban, and others, to expedite the implementation of new features and initiatives.

Quality Assurance Coordination:

• Collaborate with QA teams to establish rigorous testing procedures aligned with rapid development cycles.
• Ensure the maintenance of the highest quality standards throughout the development lifecycle.

Team Collaboration:

• Foster strong collaboration among development teams, QA, and project managers to ensure a seamless and rapid development process.
• Facilitate communication channels to address challenges and optimize workflows.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in a technical leadership role with hands-on day-to-day management of development and QA teams, ensuring high productivity and quality work.
• In-depth knowledge of various development methodologies, including Waterfall, Agile, Scrum, Kanban, and others.
• Familiarity with PHP development, particularly CakePHP or similar frameworks.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to drive collaboration and ensure effective team coordination.
• Previous experience in optimizing development processes for speed and quality.
