Research Scientist, Project Manager

We are looking for a Ph.D. candidate to join the assay development and High-content screening unit at Anima Biotech. S.he will be joining the team responsible for executing the HCS pipeline and developing novel high/medium throughput assays and high-content assays to support Anima’s vision in integrating imaging, AI, and mRNA biology.

Anima is a Tech.Bio company at the intersection of mRNA biology and AI. We are advancing the mRNA Lightning platform for the discovery of small molecule mRNA drugs and novel mRNA biology targets. Built from the ground up with over a decade of expertise in mRNA biology, the platform integrates mRNA biology with AI imaging technologies to visualize the entire life cycle of mRNA in cells and decode the mRNA biology underlying a disease. Anima’s mRNA Lightning platform is validated by our strategic collaborations with Lilly, Takeda, and AbbVie across therapeutic areas and a pipeline of 20 drug discovery programs.

Key responsibilities:

• Independently design, execute, and troubleshoot assays. 

• Biology benchwork.

• Review literature on the relevant topics.

• Analyze and summarize experimental data.

• Communicating and collaborating with other team members both internally and externally.

Education, experience, and other requirements:

• Ph.D. in cell biology or related fields – required.

• Industry experience – advantage. 

• High-level experience in biological assays.

• Hands-on experience in cell-culture and a variety of molecular biology methods.

• Excellent time management.

• Multi-tasking.

• Experience in short-medium range project planning and execution.

• Imaging experience – advantage.
