Assistant Financial Controller (Maternity Leave Cover)

Avid is looking for a temporary Assistant Financial Controller. This role combines GL and AP activities. As part of the Israel Finance team, you will work under the direction of the local Controller and be involved in forecasting, reporting and analysis of cash, assisting with the month end close process, balance sheet analysis and reconciliations, maintaining the integrity of the G/L, and reporting VAT and assistance with statutory compliance. In addition,you will be processing invoices timely and accurately, vendor communication, and issuing payments.

About The Role

Regular activities

• Manage workflows to ensure fast processing and approvals of invoices and payments
• Actively follow up on delays and communicate corrective action
• Reconcile vendor statements to ensure that accounts are up to date and correspond with vendors to clear discrepancies
• Review debit balances on vendor accounts
• Follow established Accounts Payable policies, procedures, and control processes to ensure accuracy of Accounts Payable
• Code invoices to correct accounting unit (location/department), general ledger account and accounting period
• Process travel and expense reports and oversee distributions in a timely fashion.
• Post cash entries and resolve reconciliation discrepancies
• Cash reporting – maintenance of the three month cash forecast, weekly analysis of actual cash movements and analysis of variances
• Ensuring bank account is funding as needed.
• Maintenance of bank account mandates
• Ensure all activities are managed within service level / internal control / Sarbanes Oxley rules
• Ad hoc duties / cover as directed by G/L Manager
  
  

Close process

• Support month-end and year-end close processes, including internal and external audit Monthly reconciliation of cash balances
• Prepare journals as required, submit for review and post into SAP
• Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations
  
  

Statutory & compliance

• Prepare periodic VAT returns
• Provide support to all audit processes (external / tax / internal / SOX)
  
  

About You

• Certified Bookkeeper, or “Sug 3” certification + a good general level of accounting education to enable proper preparation of periodic and annual financial statements.
• Have a minimum of 3-8 years experience in an accounting role.
• Demonstrate a commitment to learn and approach your role with enthusiasm.
• Be able to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure.
• Knowledge of SAP is highly desirable and Knowledge of NetSuite.
• Fluent Hebrew required (to read invoices and statutory documents).
• Good English level required.
  
  

Please note our office is located in Kfar Saba - the role can be performed remotely but will require regular onsite meetings, especially for the handover/training period.
