Operation Lab Technician / Engineer

Quris AI seeks a highly motivated Operations Lab Technician or Engineer to quarterback our multidisciplinary drug-safety prediction system. This is an onsite position responsible for both operations and R&D activities in our lab. For operations you will perform routine assignments within established procedures and practices in a biology technological laboratory. For R&D you’ll be validating new designs and versions, instructing internal users, and supporting the R&D team. We are a dynamic, collaborative, creative startup with diverse talents and experiences, headquartered in Tel-Aviv, Israel and Boston, Massachusetts.

Responsibilities

• Operate and support Laboratory Equipment (liquid handlers/microscope/plate readers etc.)
• Optimize and validate protocols to support scale up among others.
• Preparing samples and reagents for biological/biochemical assays..
• Develop application-specific protocols for liquid handlers (e.g. Biomek) and other instrumentation.
• Perform troubleshooting and other sustaining activities to keep automated solutions operating optimally.
• Provide training on use, maintenance and troubleshooting of automation equipment to staff with varying scientific and automation skills.
• Design solutions to improve manufacturing performance (cycle time, reliability, etc.) and to ensure quality and stability of automated processes, through future expansions, upgrades and/or replacements.
• Prepare and write standard operating procedures (SOPs) and support manuals.
  
  

• B.Sc. in life-sciences or engineering (e.g. Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science)
• 3+ years of experience within a life science manufacturing or research environment
• Good familiarity with testing and measurement tools and equipment
• Motivated, self-learner, self-motivated, flexible and able to contribute to several fast-paced projects concurrently.
• Good verbal and written communication skills including the ability to follow written instruction and accurately complete.
• Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently. Great interpersonal skills.
  
  

• Production/operation laboratory experience preferred
• Experience with lab robotics / liquid handlers (e.g. Biomek) - advantage
• Background in scripting (e.g. Python/Bash) and/or Linux - advantage
