Position Summary

The Social Worker position at HIAS Israel will be part of the Legal Aid Department. This position involves coordinating with welfare and public service entities. The Social Worker will specialize in providing empathetic and tailored treatment for asylum seekers and refugees. Responsibilities encompass psycho-social support, paralegal work (????? ??????) and connecting individuals to available support.

Essential Functions

Conducting individual and community-level paralegal work includes mapping relevant services and consolidating information on rights within assistance authorities.

Facilitating, accompanying, and guiding focus groups and individuals in making decisions on pivotal issues and action methods.

Offering personal paralegal assistance to individuals and assist them in accessing their rights.

Providing consultation and updates to the staff.

Compiling comprehensive social reports, detailing client backgrounds, needs and challenges.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in social work.

Minimum one year of experience in paralegal work (????? ??????).

Immediate availability.

Experience in writing social reports.

Experience working with asylum seekers and refugees - advantage.

Proficiency in Hebrew, Arabic - advantage.

Experience in providing support to individuals affected by trauma - advantage.
