Test Automation Security Engineer

Company Description

We are looking for a test automation security engineer with the sort of expertise you need to write tests for secure mission critical software for the world’s largest banks and financial institutions. We are looking for the sort of people who have validated cryptographic algorithms, who have tested scalable web services that have never been broken into, and who can balance security and usability while making sure that the data they protect remains protected, always, even in the face of fallible human nature.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement automation tests for security features for the Lightbits complete data platform, a complex high performance system that runs on premises and in multiple clouds.
• Develop, enhance and maintain testing tools, plugins and framework
• Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
• Liaise with internal teams (e.g. developers and architects) to identify system requirements
• Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases
• Debug, define and implement corrective actions following test failures
• Open and manage issues through our bug tracking system (JIRA)

Desired Skills and Experience

• Excellent knowledge and experience in validating secure software. Familiarity with common exploits and their mitigation. Offensive capabilities are an advantage.
• Experience with encryption and key management is an advantage. web services security, keys rotation, service-to-service comms security, etc.
• Deep familiarity with Linux systems is required; storage and networking experience is an advantage.
• Proven programming experience and competence to code in various programming languages such as Python.
• Ability to work independently and push through to completion. We value getting things done.
• 2+ years of experience as a testing automation security engineer.
• A bachelor’s degree from a leading university in computer science or software engineering with an average grade of 80 and above is desired but we’ll consider commensurate experience instead.
