We're looking for an automation engineer to join our system test team and work across the full test chain for Wiliot's tags and gateways: running system tests on lab stations with RF instruments and environmental equipment, storing billions of test packets, comparing and analyzing results, and automating the work around it. You'll work side by side with a senior engineer, learn the system from the inside, and take on real ownership as you grow.

Responsibilities:

• Run, monitor, and maintain system tests and regression campaigns on lab stations, and triage failures to root cause.
• Develop and maintain Python services and scripts that drive RF instruments, gateways, and environmental equipment (ovens, temperature and humidity chambers).
• Build comparison and analysis tools for test results across runs, firmware versions, and stations, using SQL, Python, and Spotfire.
• Build workflow automations in n8n: test run notifications, scheduled reports, alerts, and integrations between internal systems.
• Work with large test-data databases (PostgreSQL, ClickHouse): queries, backups and restore testing, and data migrations.
• Maintain and modernize the lab portal and internal dashboards (React, TypeScript, FastAPI).
• Install and maintain Linux lab stations, deploy services with Docker, and manage software versions across stations.
• Build CI pipelines in Jenkins that run tests on real hardware.
• Document technical decisions and support the test and validation teams.

• 0–3 years of software development experience in backend, full stack, or test automation roles.
• Proficiency in Python is a must.
• Solid SQL and relational database knowledge (PostgreSQL).
• Experience analyzing data with Python (pandas or similar).
• Comfortable with Linux, Git, and SSH.
• Familiarity with Docker and RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with React or another modern web framework.
• Effective use of AI-assisted engineering tooling (Claude Code, Cursor, or similar).
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Clear written English.

 Advantage:

• n8n or similar workflow automation tools.
• Spotfire or other BI tools.
• ClickHouse or other data-heavy applications (IoT, telemetry, sensor networks).
• Test automation frameworks (pytest or similar).
• Jenkins or other CI/CD tools.
• Prometheus and Grafana.
• Building LLM-based tools or agents (MCP, tool calling).
• Hands-on hardware experience: lab instruments, Raspberry Pi, serial communication, BLE.
• Background in electrical engineering or RF.
